The flaming vagina.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 Lord of the rings II was very good.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 The flaming vagina \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u0153 I mean, eye of sauron, was not as obvious in this film.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 Just didn\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2t seem to hang out with the other characters as much as it did in the last one. Other than that, not so much walking and talking and character development.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 I would have appreciated a little more character development, and a little less head bashing.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 And when I say head bashing, I\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2m not talking about the kind of character developing head bashing that happens sometime with a one on one fight, but the kind of head bashing that occurs between armies of thousands vs. ten-thousands, and that last for hours and hours.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 It was exhausting.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 But that doesn\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2t make this any less of a good movie, it just makes it exhausting. More so, I thought, than the first one.<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. from the List of Things that I Wanted to Say, but didn\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2t say at all because I\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2m polite\/too nice\/wimpy\/overly concerned about my career:<\/span>
    \n\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c5\u201cso, we\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2ve worked together for 3 and \u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00bd years, and you think I\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2m making up this emergency? Because it sure seems like you don\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2t believe me right now.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 You\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2re thinking, right now, that I am shirking my duties to you and this project, and just walking out?\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 That I don\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2t have a real emergency?\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 But I\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2m not going to tell you about my emergency, dude, because it\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s none of your business, and also, because this isn\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2t a freakin\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2 pissing contest.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 It\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s not a competition to see who can work more and put more of their life on hold.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 It\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s a job with a noncrucial self-imposed deadline, and it\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s up against a real life emergency with people I care about and the place where I live.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 And real life people I care about win.\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. <\/span> <\/span>I love nice lunches with my coworkers. I love getting silly on nachos and chips and salsa. I love feeling like I like the people I work with for who they are, and not just how good of a job they do.<\/span><\/li>\n
  4. Things that may happen this weekend:\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 Maybe go swing dancing on Friday.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 Maybe pedicures on sat.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 Maybe xcountry skiing on Sunday. <\/span><\/li>\n
  5. <\/span>Horses I encountered on the way to check on my flat tires:\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 4+.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 Number of flat tires: 2.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 Reason for horses: Operation Impact<\/a>, which targets areas around NYC which haven\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2t experienced the same dramatic drop in crime.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 Matt and I went to check on the car, which has 2 flat tires (both in the front, both new, perhaps a seal\/seating problem?) and encountered several police cars and even more police horses.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 They were standing around in a school, and when asked, an officer said they were on patrol.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 Since when did horses patrol Spanish Harlem?\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 I asked some neighborhood kids what they thought was up, and they suggested maybe trespassing.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 Since when did horses protect the neighborhood from trespassing?\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 Since Operation Impact, that\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s when.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 Michelle called up the precinct the next night and asked if our neighborhood was part of Operation Impact, and they confirmed this.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 They also confirmed that\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s what the horses are all about.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 Or, the pony patrol, as Michelle is wont to refer to it.]<\/span><\/li>\n
  6. <\/span> <\/span>Speaking of flat tires, I have two flattening tires. Both on the front, both are brand spankin\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2 new tires.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 I have to hope that they just put the tires on the wheels wrong at the end of December when I got the new ones.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 I went out to move the car on Tuesday and found them both totally flat \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u0153 but I took a chance and brought the car up \u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00bd a block to a taxi cab repair shop while I was outside, and they were sweet and filled up all of my tires for me.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 I tried to pay them, but the guy wouldn\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2t even take it! He was very nice.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 NYC is full of very nice people, y\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2all!<\/span><\/li>\n
  7. something else from the List of Things That I Wanted to Say:\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c5\u201cWhat\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s that?\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 The Company\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s standard merit raise is x%?\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 and that\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s what I\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2m getting?\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 So tell me this:\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 how does that make me want to work harder?\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 It\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s not for comp time, cause I can\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2t take any, and if I try to take sick time I have an argument on my hands.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 It\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s not for overtime, cause that\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2s an argument right there, and after the argument, I experience severe taxation, not so much more money, and then I find that perhaps my tax bracket has shifted and I\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2m screwed.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 So, I don\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2t get a bonus, I work so very very hard<\/a> and I get a STANDARD merit raise?\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 Now, tell me again:\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 why would I want to work hard for this company?\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d<\/span><\/li>\n
  8. New Toffee Nut drinks at Starbucks are so good.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 And also, I am so torn about Starbucks<\/a>. I mean, they provide their workers with a health plan (part timers too!\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 so unusual! AND, their domestic partners!), and they\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2re one of the best companies for a woman to work for, apparently \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u0153 but they\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2re so nasty and pestilent and all about spreading and putting local guys out of business.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 I don\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2t know if the good is worse or better than the bad!<\/span><\/li>\n

That bomb thing from last time?\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 It was, apparently, nothing.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 Someone here at work said something about a news reporter splayed across the road taking pictures of a bag full of what looked like dirty clothes.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 Someone also said she\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2d asked an officer what was going on and was told \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c5\u201cDon\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2t ask questions \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u20ac\u0153 for your own safety!\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d which made someone else and I laugh really hard, and then I said \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c5\u201cSoylent Green<\/a> is people!\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d and no one laughed, and I sat down and got back to work.<\/span><\/li>\n
  10. Surreal Life was a hoot.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 But have any of these people ever watched a reality show before?\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 And has Corey Feldman ever talked to a smart person before?\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 High School Reunion?\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 Not so hootish.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 One of those \u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c5\u201creality\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00c2\u009d shows where they try so hard to make it interesting that they include all of these crazy people.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 Or, at least 2 crazy people.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 So far that I\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2ve identified as such.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 I think everyone is on this show either for the exposure (hello, my actress\/cocktail waitress friend) or to prove to their old classmates that they\u00c3\u00a2\u00e2\u201a\u00ac\u00e2\u201e\u00a2re so different, and special. Yo, and everyone, I want you to know that the specialness?\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 Was there before and now look what you missed out on you foolish shallow person.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 Except for conscious recognition of that last part there.\u00c3\u201a\u00c2\u00a0 <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
